"Courage is not enough, without Purpose and Direction"
This quote has inspired my life for many years. I desire to live life in a manner that allows me to achieve my full potential. I can't stand waisting time, and it is my hope that I never become complacent with the time I've been giving to live on this earth. Therefor I am driven to living life on purpose. My desire is to be successful in every area of my life; which includes fathering my five children and becoming an inspiration to other fathers with the same drive.
When I sat down to compose this first blog I could not stop thinking about all of the men I know that grew up without healthy relationships with their fathers. I thought about the pain I still feel and experience, at times, as a 38-year-old man every time I think about the lack of relationship I had with my Dad. I can’t help but think of how many men out there that are experiencing the same pain I felt, yet can’t explain why they feel the way they feel. I vacillate between loving my Dad and hating my Dad constantly in my mind. He is not a bad man; I just hate the challenges, frustration, anger and fear I had to overcome because of his absenteeism when I was young.
So this blog is dedicated to all of the men out there who are fathers, or desire to be fathers that don’t want to repeat the destructive patterns of ineffective fatherhood that has adversely impacted their life. The purpose of this blog is to inspire and encourage men to approach fatherhood with determination and passion. I also want to create a space where we as men can openly dialog about our experiences and discuss relevant issues regarding our ever-evolving roles as Dads. Remember, Dads are the adult version of what every kid wants to become, so make the best out of the time you have with your children.
My name is Pastor Keith and welcome to iDad!!!
